Dear Doublepoint community,
Today we're sharing an important milestone: Doublepoint has been acquired by Oura.
Since 2020, our goal has been to build technology that feels human, using biometric signals and subtle gestures to let people control devices with simple, natural movements. Oura shares that belief. Their mission is to make technology support everyday life quietly in the background, which is exactly where we've always wanted our work to sit.
You can read more about the news and what it means for Oura's product future on their blog, and you can read more about my reasons behind this decision on my personal blog.
To everyone who has supported Doublepoint so far, users, partners, and all of you who believed in us early, thank you. This isn't an ending; it's a decision about where to keep building. We're just getting started.
With gratitude,
Ohto

FAQ
Why are WowMouse, WowPlay, WowMouse Presenter, and Touch SDK being discontinued?
Following Oura's acquisition of Doublepoint, we are focusing our efforts on integrating our gesture technology into future Oura products. As part of this shift, we will discontinue standalone support for WowMouse, WowPlay, WowMouse Presenter, and Touch SDK.
What is the timeline for discontinuation?
The apps and SDK will be removed from app stores and distribution channels starting today (the "Shutdown Date").
Will the apps stop working immediately?
After the Shutdown Date, backend-dependent features will no longer function. You may still be able to use some parts of the apps if they are already installed, but we can't guarantee compatibility with future OS updates and will not provide on-going support.
What happens to Pro purchases or paid features?
Users who purchased Pro features after January 1st 2026 may request a refund by contacting hello@doublepoint.com. We understand many users supported us through these purchases and want to handle this fairly.
What happens to my data?
WowMouse, WowPlay, WowMouse Presenter, and Touch SDK do not store raw biometric data in the cloud. Any limited service-related data will be deleted following the Shutdown Date.
Will there be further updates or OS compatibility fixes?
No further feature development, maintenance releases, or OS compatibility updates are planned.
Can I continue using the apps offline?
Some local functionality may continue to work after services are shut down, but we cannot guarantee stability or compatibility going forward.
What happens to developers using the Touch SDK?
Touch SDK distribution and related services will be discontinued immediately. Developers with specific questions may contact hello@doublepoint.com.
Who can I contact for support?
For questions related to these products, please contact hello@doublepoint.com.
Will these products be open sourced?
There are currently no plans to open source these applications or the SDK.
