Understanding Thresholds
Adjust sensitivity thresholds in the Advanced Settings menu:
- Settings Menu:
- Navigate to Settings > Advanced to access threshold adjustments
- Quick Access:
- Press and hold the settings icon in home view for a shortcut to advanced settings
Threshold | Description |
---|---|
Wrist Threshold | Controls how fast of a wrist rotation is needed to toggle gestures |
Flick Threshold | Determines how pronounced your flick tap movement must be |
Double Tap Interval | Sets the time window for detecting double taps (how quickly you must perform them) |
Flick Timeout | Sets the time window after a tap within which a hand motion has to occur to be considered a flick (set to 40ms if you experience accidental triggers in wrong directions) |
Threshold Settings for Different Environments
WowMouse allows you to adjust threshold settings based on your environment. These settings help optimize gesture detection accuracy in different conditions:
Indoor vs Outdoor Settings
When using WowMouse in different environments, you may need to adjust your threshold settings:
-
Indoor Settings: In quiet, stable environments, you can use more sensitive thresholds. This allows for subtle, smaller gestures that require less effort.
-
Outdoor Settings: In dynamic environments with more movement (walking, public transit, etc.), more robust thresholds are recommended. This helps prevent false detections from environmental vibrations and natural body movements.
Below are our recommended threshold configurations for different environments:
Indoor Threshold Settings
Mapping | Settings |
---|---|
Wrist Shake Threshold | 2 of 6 |
Flick Threshold | 1 of 5 |
Double Tap Interval | 2 of 5 (300 ms) |
Flick Timeout | 1 of 5 (220 ms) |
Outdoor Threshold Settings
Mapping | Settings |
---|---|
Wrist Shake Threshold | 4 of 6 |
Flick Threshold | 5 of 5 |
Double Tap Interval | 1 of 5 (240 ms) |
Flick Timeout | 0 of 5 (40 ms) |
Customizing Your Mappings
WowMouse allows you to create custom mappings tailored to your specific needs. To customize your mappings:
- Open the WowMouse application on your watch
- Navigate to Settings > Select Preset
- Select the gesture you want to customize
- Choose from the available actions
Remember that the most effective mappings are those that feel natural and intuitive to you. Experiment with different configurations to find what works best for your workflow.
