Installation and Setup

Apple Watch App Store showing WowMouse app

  1. Download WowMouse from the Apple App Store. You can do this directly via your Apple Watch. The app is free to download.
  2. Wear the watch on either of your hands. Right-handed wear is generally recommended, but you can specify handedness within the app.
  3. Open WowMouse.
  4. When first opening the app on a device, you will be asked which hand you're wearing the device on. You can always change this later in settings.
  5. You will then be guided through a short tutorial that asks you to tap your fingers. Our gesture detection algorithms running onboard should successfully decode these events.
  6. At this point, you are ready to get started.
  7. You should see a wireless icon that's crossed out - to initiate a wireless connection with a Mac device, go ahead and click this icon. You will then be prompted to "start workout" - this setting allows the app to keep running and maintain a stable connection without interruption.
  8. When you select "start workout," you will be asked to allow Bluetooth connections with external devices. Go ahead and select "Allow."
  9. Your Apple Watch is now looking for active connections with a Companion app.
caution

You will need to download a WowMouse Companion app since Apple Watch does not support direct HID connections. Visit our companions section to download the appropriate companion app for your device.
